Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 12, 2026

CalcRig is a mobile calculator app for trade professionals, published by NOTchip — the trading name of Raman Halder (sole proprietor), based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India (notchip.com). This policy describes what data CalcRig collects, how it is used, and your rights. It applies to the CalcRig mobile app on iOS and Android, and to this website.

Quick summary

  • The app works fully without an account. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or remain anonymous.
  • Your calculation inputs and results are stored on your device. They are uploaded to our servers only if you subscribe to CalcRig Pro and enable cloud sync.
  • We collect anonymous crash reports and usage analytics to keep the app stable and improve it.
  • We use RevenueCat to handle in-app subscriptions.
  • We do not sell your personal data. We do not show ads. We do not track your location.

Data we collect

Account data (only if you sign in)

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from the identity provider. You may choose to hide your real email via Apple’s “Hide My Email” — in that case we only ever see the relay address.

If you use the app anonymously, we generate an anonymous session ID on your device. This ID is not linked to any personal information.

Account and session data is stored by our authentication backend (Better-Auth on our servers) and on your device’s secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).

Calculation data

Calculation history (calculator type, inputs, results, timestamps) and your preferences (unit system, default trade, onboarding state) are stored on your device in a local SQLite database (history) and MMKV key-value store (preferences).

If you subscribe to CalcRig Pro and enable cloud sync, this data is also uploaded to our servers so you can access it on other devices. Synced data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Subscription data

In-app subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat, which receives a pseudonymous user ID, your purchase receipt, the platform store (App Store or Play Store), and subscription status. We use this to grant Pro features and to support refund and renewal requests. Payment information itself is handled by Apple or Google and is never seen by CalcRig or RevenueCat.

Crash reports

We use Sentry to collect automatic crash reports when the app encounters an error. A crash report contains the stack trace, app version, device model, operating system version, and a pseudonymous installation ID. It does not contain your calculation inputs, account details, or contact information.

Usage analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the app is used in aggregate — which calculators are opened, screen views, app opens, and session duration. On Android, this may include the Advertising ID; on iOS, Firebase Analytics respects the App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not collect the IDFA unless you explicitly allow it. Analytics events do not include your calculation inputs or results.

Push notification tokens

If you grant notification permission, your device’s push token (APNs on iOS, FCM on Android) is stored on our servers so we can send you transactional notifications (e.g. subscription receipts). We do not send marketing pushes.

Information we do not collect

  • Your physical location
  • Your contacts, photos, or other device content
  • Advertising identifiers for ad targeting
  • Your calculation inputs or results (free tier; never leaves your device)

How we use your data

We use the data described above to:

  • Provide the calculator functionality and save your history for your convenience
  • Authenticate you and keep your session secure
  • Sync your Pro data across your devices (only if you subscribe and enable sync)
  • Process subscription purchases, renewals, and refunds
  • Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
  • Understand which features are used so we know what to improve
  • Send transactional notifications related to your account or subscription

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to third parties.

Data retention

  • On-device data (history, preferences): retained until you clear it inside the app or uninstall CalcRig. The app keeps the most recent 10 calculations per trade category automatically.
  • Account data: retained while your account exists. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
  • Pro sync data: retained while your subscription is active and for 30 days after cancellation, then deleted.
  • Subscription receipts: retained as required by tax and consumer-protection law (up to 7 years).
  • Crash and analytics data: retained for up to 14 months, then aggregated or deleted.

Your rights

You can:

  • Use the app anonymously without creating an account.
  • Clear your calculation history at any time from the app.
  • Disable analytics by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS or revoking permission in Android settings.
  • Disable notifications in your device’s notification settings.
  • Cancel your subscription at any time from the App Store or Play Store.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing info@notchip.com. We respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CPRA respectively — including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. Contact us at the email above to exercise these rights. The legal basis for our processing is your consent (analytics, notifications), the performance of our agreement with you (account, sync, subscription), and our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable (crash reporting).

International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you use CalcRig from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our processors operate. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards where required by law.

Children’s privacy

CalcRig is intended for trade professionals and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: TLS in transit, encryption at rest for our databases, secure platform storage for tokens (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), and least-privilege access controls on our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure — if we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the appropriate regulators as required by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, notify you in the app or by email.
